Acclaimed producer, DJ, and innovator Seven Lions joins forces once again with long-time collaborator and GRAMMY®-nominated songstress HALIENE for their powerful new single, “Cold as Snow,” out November 12 via Ophelia Records.

Marking the third release from his highly anticipated upcoming album Asleep in the Garden of Infernal Stars (arriving December 12), “Cold as Snow” is an emotional, genre-defying journey that captures both artists at the height of their creative expression.

Drawing inspiration from Seven Lions’ early metal influences, the track blends live guitars, pounding metal-driven drums, and cinematic sound design. Originally conceived as an instrumental, the song took on new life when HALIENE added her haunting and poetic vocals, evoking the melancholy and depth of a frozen landscape.

“‘Cold as Snow’ was always meant to be an instrumental, but when I finished it, I thought it would be really interesting to try adding vocals,” Seven Lions shares. “The song doesn’t have any repeating parts, so it’s tricky for a vocalist to write over. I felt like the only person who could really do it justice was HALIENE — and she absolutely crushed it.”

Explaining the song’s emotional weight, HALIENE says, “‘Cold As Snow’ is about the soul ties that continue to haunt us long after the love has turned cold. It’s a plea for release — for freedom not just in life, but in spirit. Sometimes the hardest goodbye is the one that’s never spoken.”

Seven Lions — born Jeff Montalvo — has spent over a decade redefining electronic music with his signature fusion of melodic bass, trance, and cinematic soundscapes. From his breakthrough remix of Above & Beyond’s “You Got to Go” to releases on Anjunabeats, OWSLA, Casablanca, and his own Ophelia Records, he’s established himself as one of dance music’s most forward-thinking artists. His 2022 album Beyond the Veil and collaborations with Illenium, Tove Lo, Gryffin, Skylar Grey, and Noah Kahan cemented his reputation for emotionally charged storytelling through sound.

Fresh off the announcement of his return to the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre on May 22, 2026, Seven Lions is preparing to launch the next chapter of his acclaimed Higher Love event series. The show marks his fifth appearance at the legendary venue, with all previous performances selling out.

Meanwhile, HALIENE — a two-time EDMA Female Artist of the Year — continues to define the voice of modern electronic music through collaborations with Armin van Buuren, Illenium, Slander, Gareth Emery, and Excision, blending trance-inspired emotion with bass-driven power.

With “Cold as Snow,” Seven Lions and HALIENE deliver a masterful preview of what’s to come on Asleep in the Garden of Infernal Stars — a record that pushes creative boundaries while staying true to the emotive, melodic storytelling that has made both artists beloved figures in the electronic music world.
