Seismic Dance Event Updates Lineup, Venue and COVID Protocols | Last Chance for Tickets!

by The Freaks - Staff

The return of raving is nearly upon us! For house and techno fiends, Seismic Dance Event 3.3 is just what the doctor ordered to shake off the pandemic blues and celebrate the rejuvenating freedom of the dance floor once again.

While Electric Daisy Carnival questionably moves forward with its 150,000-person gathering next month in Las Vegas, I feel much safer kicking off summer at RealMusic Events‘ boutique, 2,500-person festival May 21-23 in Austin, Texas instead. Seismic Dance Event’s limited capacity creates a far more underground and intimate vibe as well, which made it an absolute revelation on the festival circuit in 2019. Formerly in downtown Austin, Seismic moves near the airport this year, to the 7-acre venue centered around the Mala Santa Discoteca space.

Ongoing international travel restrictions have necessitated some artist adjustments since the last lineup announcement, with new additions including the illustrious (and rarely reunited) duo Deep Dish, Guy Gerber, Lee Foss, BLOND:ISH, Spencer Brown, Black V Neck, Lucati, Barbuto and Kivi. RealMusic Events is working on booking the DJs who had to be replaced – Richie Hawtin, Adana Twins, Ben Böhmer, Stephan Bodzin, Kyle Watson, Volac, Biscits, Cloonee, Matthew Dekay, Regard, Spektre and Torren Foot – for the fall edition of Seismic in November.

All attendees will either need proof of full vaccination (uploaded before the fest and at least two weeks after final dose), or a negative COVID test administered onsite when picking up wristbands. Tests cost $25, but ticket holders only need one for the weekend. Safety regulations also involve increased sanitization protocol, cashless points of sale, and masks/face coverings worn at all times. There will be no pod-style restrictions, so attendees can maneuver across the event grounds freely.

Three-day passes and Saturday passes have already sold out, with only single-day GA passes for Friday and Sunday remaining, at $172 each after taxes. They won’t last long, so scoop up your Seismic tickets while you can and prepare to dance away all the worries of the last year.
