Schrotthagen Ushers in a New Era With Blütezeit Ahead of Nostalgie und Traurigkeit

by Press Release

Blending cinematic techno with epic pop synths, Schrotthagen sets the stage for their next chapter with Blütezeit, the first single from their upcoming album Nostalgie und Traurigkeit, slated for release in August. Dropping just in time for their highly anticipated Ultra Music Festival Miami performance on March 28, Blütezeit also marks the launch of the band’s international tour on March 21, with stops across North America, South America, and Europe.

A signature Schrotthagen production, Blütezeit delivers a rousing fusion of pulsating techno and cinematic synths, tailor-made for massive festival stages. The track became an instant fan favorite during the group’s sold-out 2024 GSA Tour (30+ stops), with early snippet releases amassing over 1 million views on Instagram, 170,000 views on TikTok, and thousands of comments demanding its release.

A Story of Unlikely Creative Synergy

The Schrotthagen project took shape when Giovanni Berg (28), a producer, stumbled upon his studio partner, acclaimed film composer Dieter Schleip (62), crafting techno music for a nightclub scene in a movie. Blown away by Schleip’s ability to seamlessly blend cinematic textures with electronic beats, Schrotthagen was born—an unexpected yet powerful alliance that has since propelled the duo to global recognition.

Global Tour and Major Festival Appearances

With support from United Talent Agency (UTA), Schrotthagen embarks on an international headline tour spanning clubs and festivals worldwide in 2025, followed by a major German arena tour in autumn 2024, with 3,000-capacity venues set to host the spectacle.

A Cinematic Album for a New Era – Nostalgie und Traurigkeit

More than just a concept album, Nostalgie und Traurigkeit (“Nostalgia and Sadness”) reflects on timeless human emotionspain, loneliness, love, longing, and the fear of the future. The album transports listeners through the soundscapes of the 80s, 90s, and 2000s, wrapped in a genre-defying fusion of techno, trance, and orchestral drama that defines Schrotthagen’s unique “cinematic techno” style.

Visuals and Collaborations

The music video and visual storytelling behind Blütezeit come from the award-winning film team responsible for “Pain in My Heart” and the Schrotthagen documentary, known for their cinematic innovation.

The album also features an impressive lineup of guest artists, including:

  • Katharina Stark (renowned German actress and featured vocalist on Pain in My Heart).
  • Cheriimoya (Living Life in the Night).
  • Noah Umali, whose soulful vocals add an extra layer of emotional depth.
  • Giovanni Berg makes his vocal debut, lending his own voice to several tracks.

For dedicated fans, Schrotthagen is rolling out two exclusive album bundles:

  • “Nostalgie und Traurigkeit” & “Sturm und Drang” bundles.
