First premiered during their Anjunadeep Miami b2b set in 2024, “Dead Synthy” marks the long-awaited debut collaboration between progressive house pioneers Sasha and Marsh. Out now on Anjunadeep, the track is a mesmerizing blend of golden-era progressive house, electro-tinged textures, and ethereal vocals, evoking a dreamlike journey through little fluffy clouds.
Marsh reflects on the collaboration, recalling the moment Sasha reached out:
“It was the week leading up to our Miami set, and he called to see if I wanted to collaborate on something to hopefully play. He sent me an initial draft called ‘Dead Synthy,’ and I was immediately drawn to the atmosphere, chords, vocals, and arpeggio. I found the main riff, bassline, and drums, and soon we had a first draft ready to test. Sasha said my riff sounded a bit ‘Jam & Spoon’… I had no idea how I’d never heard of them! He was referring to their track ‘Stella’ (banger). I wondered if that was a dealbreaker, but we rolled with it. He took my stems, beefed up the mix, and refined the idea. The processing in the breakdown is mental—it adds something truly unique to the journey of the track. Needless to say, working with such a legend as Sasha is surreal. I hope there’s more to come!”
For Marsh, 2024 was a milestone year, with a string of standout releases, a packed global tour, and the launch of his ARIA hybrid showcase—selling out London’s Outernet and closing Red Rocks under a blizzard. He kicks off 2025 in style with his All Night Long show at Fabric on February 7th.
Meanwhile, Sasha continues to shape the progressive and underground electronic scene, blending house, techno, and trance into his genre-defining sets. His creative reach extends beyond the club, with his award-winning score for the Da Vinci interactive exhibition in Berlin (2022), earning accolades such as Best Immersive Experience (Art Directors Club, 2022) and Best Experimental Design (Creative Pool Awards, 2022).
With “Dead Synthy,” Sasha and Marsh have crafted a timeless yet forward-thinking track, destined to resonate both on and beyond the dancefloor.
