It’s time for this Dirtybird to spread his wings
Setting out on the biggest project of his career, Sacha Robotti announces the launch of a record label all his own! Known for his work on Dirtybird, Octopus Records, and This Ain’t Bristol, Sacha has been hard at work on his project “Slothacid” which is promised to give a more mature emphasis on his already inimitable signature sound. On August 30th, Sacha shares Slothacid and the start of his new endeavor with a four-track EP by the artist himself.
We’ve already gotten a taste with the release of “Tail Of A Siren” last week, which will be featured on the EP next month. In the new single, Sacha gives us a futuristic, glitchy tech-influence House tune that is truly meant for those extended late nights that turn into mornings. The eerie vocals and samples over a rolling bassline are fitting for those long underground warehouse parties we all miss. And it’s only a tease of what else he has in store.
“Slothacid Rec is a label for me to express my musical creativity on, while retaining creative control and schedule of my own output. I’ve been DJing techno and house music since 1995 and have immersed myself in the subculture ever since. I had the opportunity to DJ in many countries and spread my message worldwide, before moving from Berlin to the West Coast. My spectrum of experiences as a globe-trotting sloth will be reflected by Slothacid. The mission of the label is to bring you music between light and darkness, that takes you on a journey.”Sacha Robotti
After we’ve all had a good two weeks to obsess over the new EP, the launch of the new label is succeeded by a massive “Welcome to Slothacid” North American tour starting September 13th. Unlike your run-of-the-mill tour, viewers better strap in! Sacha will be playing exclusive extended open to close sets at each tour date. That’s a minimum four hour set from Sacha and only Sacha! Luckily, we won’t have to wait long because tickets for the “Welcome to Slothacid” tour tickets are already on sale. Click the image below to get yours!
