British producer duo RUZE have officially unveiled their new imprint, Staff Only Records, debuting with the launch of their first release — a VA compilation titled “RUZE and Friends” featuring Josh Butler, Ryan Nicholls, Chesster, Ranger Trucco, and THEOS, dropping Thursday, October 30.
Born from a late-night jazz session and a flash of inspiration, Staff Only emerges as a label rooted in collaboration and community. The concept — “everyone’s staff” — celebrates every element that powers the dance floor: from the ravers and DJs to the behind-the-scenes crew and close friends who keep the energy alive. Musically, the label aims to bridge underground house and accessible grooves, with a focus on soulful, garage-inspired sounds.
“Starting our own label has always been a dream,” RUZE share. “We’ve been trying to break into the music scene for around 15 years, and it finally feels like we’ve found a space where we can start the label up.”
The debut compilation “RUZE and Friends” showcases the spirit of the brand, bringing together long-time collaborators and close friends who represent the diverse identity of Staff Only. From Ryan Nicholls’ local flavor and Chesster’s deep house finesse to Josh Butler’s legendary influence, Ranger Trucco’s transatlantic energy, and THEOS’ distinctive French touch, the release sets the tone for the collective’s creative vision.
To celebrate the launch, RUZE will host a label launch party during Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) on October 24 at Walls and Skin Tattoo Store, featuring a special guest performance by Ryan Nicholls.
