Dynamic British house duo RUZE have reunited with Italian producer Chesster for their latest collaborative EP, ‘Remember,’ out August 29 on PIV Records, featuring the legendary DJ Spen. This release captures the raw energy of underground house while radiating a feel-good vibrancy that reflects both artists’ unique creative chemistry.
The EP kicks off with the title track ‘Remember,’ a euphoric, Chicago-house-inspired heater anchored by soulful vocal chops and punchy kick drums. The addition of DJ Spen’s unmistakable touch elevates the groove, delivering an instant dancefloor weapon that feels both timeless and fresh. ‘Monday Night’ follows with a stripped-back, dub-infused roller, weaving crisp percussion and a hypnotic four-to-the-floor rhythm that highlights the effortless synergy between RUZE and Chesster. Closing out the project, ‘NY Project’ plunges deeper into the underground with sensual, hypnotic beats and a raw, minimal groove that channels late-night club energy.
Speaking about the creative spark behind the EP, RUZE recalls:
“A visit from Chesster to our hometown of Birmingham led to the birth of ‘Remember.’ We locked ourselves in the studio for a day and night, and by the end, the track was ready for its first spin. We sent it to Prunk, and he played it out that same weekend. Suddenly, our DMs were blowing up with requests for the ID, and PIV instantly felt like the natural home.”
Chesster adds:
“‘Remember’ was the first track we ever made together, so it means a lot to me. From the moment we picked the sounds and samples, we knew it had something special—it’s become one of my most requested IDs over the past year. Proud of this one, and the EP as a whole. It’s a fun, varied package that blends both our takes on house music.”
Both artists have been on an impressive trajectory. RUZE has been making waves across the UK and European club scenes, named an artist to watch by Beatport, with support from Pete Tong and Danny Howard on BBC Radio 1. Known for their groove-heavy sets and genre-blending productions, RUZE has played iconic stages like Tomorrowland, fabric, and Pacha Barcelona, while collaborating with talents such as George Meddles, Kyle Walker, Josh Butler, and Ranger Trucco. Their breakthrough came with the 2021 ‘Chapters’ EP and continued with the 2024 ‘Journey’ LP, both on PIV Records.
Meanwhile, Chesster has carved his own path as a rising force in underground house. His 2024 ‘Tribute’ EP with PIV marked a pivotal moment in his artistic journey, showcasing a sound rooted in the golden era of early-2000s house and techno. With releases on PIV, Factory 93, Dansu Discs, and Range, Chesster’s productions seamlessly blend nostalgic foundations with a forward-thinking, modern edge.
With ‘Remember,’ RUZE and Chesster deliver a versatile, groove-driven project that cements their status as artists pushing house music forward. It’s a must-listen for fans of underground cuts that honor the past while shaping the future.
