Today, Grammy-winning live electronic trio RÜFÜS DU SOL unveiled their highly anticipated fifth studio album, Inhale / Exhale, set for release on October 11 via Rose Avenue/Reprise Records. The announcement comes alongside the release of their latest single, “Break My Love”.
Following their Grammy-winning 2021 album Surrender, which featured the hit single “Alive”, Inhale / Exhale marks a new chapter for the trio. It brings together their signature themes of romance, heartbreak, euphoria, and despair, woven into an expansive soundscape that merges organic and electronic elements. This album reflects the band’s evolving creative groove, with an emphasis on enjoying the process and creating from the present moment.
“Break My Love,” the latest single, joins previously released tracks “Music is Better” and “Lately”. Warm and uplifting, the song showcases RÜFÜS DU SOL’s knack for blending textured sound design with heartfelt lyricism. The track’s powerful chorus, “You can’t break my love, it’s yours to take, we got more to make,” encapsulates a hopeful tale of enduring love.
The single is accompanied by an official music video directed by Katzki, featuring the band in retro disguises involved in a playful, nostalgic heist. The visual storytelling captures the trio’s creative spirit and charismatic nature, adding a new layer to their evolving artistic journey.
Since the release of Surrender, RÜFÜS DU SOL has seen remarkable success. In 2022, they won a Grammy Award for Best Dance/Electronic Recording and received two Grammy nominations the following year, including one for Best Dance/Electronic Album. The group has also earned their fifth ARIA Award and toured internationally, performing at festivals across Europe, South America, and iconic North American venues such as Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Hollywood Bowl, and Forest Hills Stadium.
In addition to their tour, RÜFÜS DU SOL launched the boutique Sundream Festival, which held its second edition in San José del Cabo in 2023. They were also part of the debut of the Quasar Stage at Coachella 2024.
Looking ahead, RÜFÜS DU SOL will headline Portola Festival in San Francisco on September 28, before returning to festival stages in 2025, where they will be the only electronic headliner at all three South American editions of Lollapalooza.
