After more than a decade of crossing paths on festival stages and backstage hangouts, Robin Schulz and Steve Aoki finally hit the studio together — joined by London-based producer LAWRENT — to deliver their first joint release, the high-voltage club weapon “Bloodtype” (out now via Warner Music).
Dark, charged, and relentlessly energetic, “Bloodtype” sees Schulz dive deeper into his club-driven side than in recent years, powered by Aoki’s trademark adrenaline and LAWRENT’s razor-sharp sound design. The result is a controlled sonic storm: erupting basslines, blown-out white noise, and frenzied beats that push right to the edge without tipping over.
The icy, slightly distorted topline captures the fleeting, high-intensity chemistry of a club encounter: “Imma give you my bloodtype / Baby, you’re just my bloodtype” — a hook made for flashing lights, blurred outlines, and sparks on the dance floor.
Already a highlight in Schulz’s summer sets — from Tomorrowland and Parookaville to Electric Love and his Ibiza residency at Pacha — “Bloodtype” drops as he continues a run of eight massive shows alongside support from Topic, Icona Pop, and Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano.
