Los Angeles-based producer, songwriter, and artist Rob Tirea kicks off his 2025 release slate with the stirring new single Give Me Love Give Me Light, the first glimpse of his upcoming Universal Jest EP. Seamlessly weaving together elements of alternative dance, rock, and indie pop, the track highlights Tirea’s evolving artistry and knack for emotional storytelling through sound.

Speaking on the track, Tirea explains, “Give Me Love Give Me Light is a sonic exploration of life’s contradictions and an unapologetic plea for connection.” Setting the stage for the EP, he describes Universal Jest as “a soundtrack to life being both beautiful and equally absurd. It’s a straight-up punch to the gut, wrapped in a smile. The world is loud, messy, and unapologetic, and I’m here to make sure you’re on the ride with me. There’s no rulebook here, just raw moments, sharp edges, and a whole lot of truth.”

Accompanying the release is a special live performance video featuring Rob Tirea on vocals alongside string duet Nicole Garcia and Michelle Rearick from Fine Line Music Service. The Culver City-based studio is known for recent collaborations with Lady Gaga, Laufey, Cypress Hill, and Danny Elfman, with credits on major projects like Oppenheimer, The Wild Robot, and Fargo.

Violinist Nicole Garcia recently performed with Lady Gaga during her iconic 2025 Coachella set and has recorded for artists including Reggie Watts, Elton John, Michael Bublé, Michael Jackson, and Rod Stewart. Cellist Michelle Rearick has contributed to film scores such as Tenet and The Lion King, as well as albums by Vampire Weekend (Only God Was Above Us) and John Legend (Strawberry Blush).

The visually striking live video was filmed by creative producer Jackie Catechis, recognized for her work with Coachella, Lightning in a Bottle, Skyline Festival, CRSSD, and artists like Flight Facilities and Luttrell. Captured in a Downtown Los Angeles studio, the performance offers fans an intimate look into Tirea‘s latest creative chapter.

This new release follows a strong 2024 for Rob Tirea, who delivered standout singles Thoughts of You and Only Luck—the latter becoming one of SiriusXM Chill’s most-played tracks in early 2025—as well as his Sterile Ave EP.

With over 16 million streams across his catalog, Rob Tirea continues to cement his place in the electronic and indie scenes. His collaborations include work with GRAMMY-nominated producers Andrew Bayer (on Ophelia Records) and Lipless (on Thrive/Virgin Music), and he has curated mixes for SiriusXM, earning recognition as a “2024 Dance Artist to Watch” by Austin Kramer, former head of Spotify‘s Dance and Electronic Department. His extensive studio work includes sessions with Trackside, 88rising projects, Stephanie Poetri, LILO, Jacob Ray, Justin Hayward-Young (The Vaccines), HOLLY, WIWEK, and more.
