The California native is adding another masterfully crafted house track to his arsenal with the acid-flecked tech single “Certified,” marking his debut outing with Insomniac Records.
The title of AYYBO‘s latest offering speaks for itself. “Certified” is a verifiable house banger that is stamped, sealed, and delivered. “We’ve got a certified weapon // pointed in my direction,” is the lead line from the looped vocal refrain, delivered in a raspy, hushed tone that exudes confidence. Its sultry nature works in concert with the low-slung groove, with layers of swagger embedded in its weighty, pulsing bassline and shuffling drums. The warbling acid lines add a hypnotic energy and a deep warmth, making the track ideal for open-air festival floors and late-night afters sessions alike.
AYYBO shares that the beguiling vocal sample was the spark that ignited his drive to create this lysergic-laced club record.
“I got sent this vocal and, immediately, I had a dark, hypnotic bassline in mind,” he says. “I really wanted to create an acid-fueled house track, and I’m so happy with how it turned out. It’s been a staple in my sets.”
Operating out of Orange County, the fast-rising SoCal producer swiftly became one to watch after launching his alias in 2022. An artist in multiple senses of the word, he flexes his creative muscles as a producer, songwriter, vocalist, and audiovisual savant. He’s still riding high from achieving massive summer anthem status for two years running. In 2022, he broke out with his sashaying single “HYPNOSIS” alongside ero808, and followed up last year with his sax-laden hit single “RIZZ,” amassing 32.4 million and 22.1 million streams, respectively. The viral hit “HYPNOSIS” was so widespread, it incited a crossover rework featuring none other than Latin megastar Pitbull on vocal duties.
AYYBO has a full schedule of high-profile shows lined up where “Certified” will undoubtedly continue to crush in his sets.
