Toronto-based producer and rhythm alchemist Ricky Bamboo returns to Zeds Dead’s forward-thinking Altered States imprint with EXTRASENSORY, a two-track EP arriving June 12th. Ricky Bamboo’s evolution is rooted in Toronto’s formative rave scene, where he first made waves as a jungle and drum & bass DJ. Drawing influence from UK bass, dub, and early trip-hop, he eventually shifted his focus to production, collaborating with Canadian dub icon Dubmatix and opening for artists like Diplo, M.I.A., and DJ Krush. Through various aliases and projects, including Tony October, the Ricky Bamboo moniker represents the distilled essence of his musical journey—a mature, refined sound that remains grounded in rhythm while reaching toward something far more cosmic.
