Electronic music maven Rezz has just dropped an exhilarating remix package for her 2016 classic, ‘Edge,' now available via mau5trap. This new release features Rezz's fresh 2024 reimagining of the track, alongside a powerhouse remix by Blanke and a thrilling collaborative remix with the enigmatic producer X1-Y2.
A cornerstone of Rezz‘s discography, ‘Edge' has been revitalized with three dynamic interpretations, showcasing the evolution of her unique sound and the enduring influence of her breakout hit. Rezz‘s own 2024 update offers a modern twist on the original, while Blanke's fan-favorite festival version gets an official remix treatment, supercharged with thunderous synths and pulsating basslines.
“Blanke‘s remix is phenomenal. I've been playing it in my sets for about a year. He's an incredible artist, and I'm thrilled to officially release this remix,” Rezz shared with excitement.
The remix package also marks another significant collaboration for Rezz, as she teams up with the rising talent X1-Y2. This partnership mirrors her early mentorship under mau5trap's head honcho, deadmau5. Together, Rezz and X1-Y2 push the boundaries of the original ‘Edge,' infusing it with industrial tones and twisted rhythms, taking the track to uncharted sonic territories.
“X1-Y2 is one of my favorite new artists, and I look forward to many more collaborations. Our remix of ‘Edge' was a test run, blending my compositional ideas with his advanced production and sound design skills,” Rezz explained.
The release of the ‘Edge' remix package follows the success of Rezz's latest album, CAN YOU SEE ME?, a bold showcase of the innovative bass sounds she has championed for nearly a decade. Fans can catch Rezz live at The Brooklyn Mirage on July 6, the grand finale of her CAN YOU SEE ME? tour, before she heads back to Denver for the sold-out REZZ ROCKS VI and a special throwback set at Mission Ballroom in August.
