Canadian bass music visionary Rezz has officially unveiled plans for her highly anticipated fifth studio album, As The Pendulum Swings, slated for release on September 12 via her own label HypnoVizion. The announcement arrives alongside the album’s gripping opening track, “Prophecy”, now streaming on all platforms.
Unfolding like a slow-burning ritual, “Prophecy” sets the tone for Rezz’s most cinematic and conceptually rich project yet. Driven by ominous tech melodies, brooding industrial basslines, and minimalist tension, the track unveils a matured sonic identity—one rooted in her unmistakable style, yet evolved with precise detail and atmospheric storytelling. It’s mechanical, hypnotic, and emotionally charged.
“’Prophecy’ is the intro track to my album and best describes the direction that I am going and will continue to go,” says Rezz. “This track pulls from my greatest influences – alongside my own signature sounds – and puts it all into one place. I feel this showcases a matured version of my music while still keeping a core vibe that will feel familiar to my audience.”
As The Pendulum Swings continues Rezz’s trend of crafting albums and EPs with immersive narrative arcs. From the goth-laced sonics of 2023’s IT’S NOT A PHASE to the heavy bass chaos of 2024’s CAN YOU SEE ME?, her latest record embraces elements of French electro, dark techno, and cinematic tension, building a world that pulses with both shadow and control. This new chapter channels her hypnotic live energy into an audio-visual journey that fans have come to crave—and expect.
The new single “Prophecy” joins previously released tracks “Contorted” and “Telepathy”, both fan-favorite cuts that hinted at the album’s darker, more refined direction.
