Rex Orange County has announced his new album Dream Fatigue, set for release on November 6. Co-executive produced by Mustafa and Dylan Wiggins, whose credits include work with Rosalía and Justin Bieber, the album features an impressive group of collaborators, including Turnstile’s Brendan Yates, Dev Hynes, Daniel Caesar, Mustafa, dexter in the newsagent, and Taylor Skye of Jockstrap.
The collaborative nature of Dream Fatigue marks a noticeable shift for the British artist, who has historically taken a more reclusive approach to creating his albums. Rather than working in isolation, the new project finds Rex Orange County embracing the creative energy that comes from working alongside other artists, highlighting some of the qualities that have made his songwriting so distinctive.
That sense of community has already been evident throughout the past few weeks. In late August, Rex Orange County and Brendan Yates debuted the Dream Fatigue track “Elvis” during an intimate underplay performance at Village Underground in London ahead of All Points East.
The collaborative moments continued at All Points East, where Ravyn Lenae joined Rex Orange County onstage to perform the remix of her hit song “Love Me Not.” The following night, Tyler, The Creator brought Rex out during his second headlining performance at the festival for “Boredom,” their collaboration from Tyler, The Creator’s Flower Boy album.
Just days later, the circle continued when Daniel Caesar invited Rex Orange County onto the stage at his sold-out O2 Arena show. The pair performed their collaboration “Indecision,” which was released in August as the first preview of material from Dream Fatigue.
The album announcement arrives alongside “Grandma Song,” the latest single from the upcoming project. The track is accompanied by a video featuring Rex Orange County alongside a fireworks display in Montana, adding another visual moment to the rollout of the new album.
Together with “Indecision,” “Grandma Song” highlights the confident and direct songwriting that first connected Rex Orange County with listeners nearly a decade ago. While Dream Fatigue introduces a more collaborative approach, these new songs maintain a connection to the songwriting style that helped establish his career.
That connection between his past and present has also been reflected in a series of intimate performances Rex Orange County has held in fans’ homes across the UK, Ireland, and Asia this summer. For these shows, fans have been able to select a personalized set list from a catalog spanning 10 years, creating a more personal way to revisit his music while looking toward what comes next.
With Dream Fatigue arriving November 6 and “Grandma Song” now available, Rex Orange County is entering a new chapter defined by collaboration, community, and a renewed connection to the songwriting that first made him a standout artist.
