From Bless this Mess to Re:Heat | The Indianapolis Underground Returns with Pride

When you travel as often as I do, it is nice to come home, relax, and meet up with your hometown crew. Indianapolis has been my home for over 15 years now. Truth be told, there is more than just corn in Indiana. Pride week is one of my favorite weeks of the year due to the importance being an ally has been throughout my adult life. Many of my friends are LGBTQ, and supporting them, their desires, hopes, and dreams, and their lifestyle is of the utmost importance to me. My two best friends are now married. Watching that love story unfold before my eyes was incredible to witness, and to be engrossed in the culture and have their shining moment legal in 2019 is an accomplishment not to be taken lightly, especially noting the current leadership of this country.

Last weekend for Indianapolis Pride we saw the largest attendance ever recorded at Military Park. With so many incredible events to chose from during Pride week, it was difficult to prioritize my time to just one. I had the pleasure of hitting up a fantastic Pride after-hours “Bless this Mess” at “The Healer,” and I must say… when it comes to venues, this may be the most interesting and unique spots I have ever danced in.

Like many interactive museums and spaces popping up in the U.S. thanks to Meow Wolf‘s popularity, The Healer takes a page from their book with a fully interactive space that is not only welcoming and vibrant but whimsical with an oddball quality that hits a home run. Quite honestly, it is a venue you must see to believe. Everyone is welcome. When I say that I mean that.

The next opportunity to check out The Healer has a lineup that will please any Indianapolis native. With Indianapolis local Noncompliant headlining, along with Dj Fate and Kene Mahusay, it’s safe to say you’ll get your House and Techno fix in July.

Grab your pre-sale tickets now to avoid an upcharge at the door, and plan to join us on July 13th! The underground is massive. As a Naptown local, it is nice to see some exciting and welcoming events popping up.
