RayRay closes out her 2025 run on Dim Mak with Currently On Earth, a concept-driven EP that maps an emotional, sonic, and visual journey through the human psyche—interpreted through the lens of her own alien persona. The project captures a year of artistic evolution, merging her intensifying love for hard techno, hard dance, psytrance, and emotive melodic sound design with the surreal worlds she has been building throughout her visual storytelling.
In crafting the EP, RayRay turned inward, using psychology’s foundational structure—Id, Ego, and Superego—as the blueprint for the narrative. “I built this EP around the idea of the Id, Ego, and Superego—the impulses we hide, the battles we fight, and the clarity we search for. Each track represents a different emotional state, a different version of myself trying to understand what it means to be here on Earth,” she shares.
The EP introduces two new singles, “Make It Wet” and “Bad Decisions,” each embodying a distinct psychological moment.
“Make It Wet” represents the collision point of the psyche’s three forces—a high-intensity hard-techno outburst driven by primal impulse. With its stomping kick, hypnotic vocal cues, and metallic, dripping synth textures, the track becomes a physical and instinctual release. As RayRay explains, it is “the moment where all parents of the psyche collide,” channeling raw energy into a kinetic, body-led climax.
In contrast, “Bad Decisions” serves as the EP’s introspective shadow. Built around hard-dance percussion, eerie melodies, and distorted vocal fragments, the track explores the pull between desire and consequence. RayRay describes it as “the moment of reflection after the chaos,” a sonic portrayal of knowing better but moving forward anyway—perfectly capturing the internal struggle between Id and Superego.
Currently On Earth arrives on Dim Mak on December 5, completing a pivotal and deeply conceptual year for RayRay as she continues shaping her alien identity and expanding the emotional architecture of her sound.
