Belgian drum & bass powerhouses Primate and Captain Bass reunite for their latest single, “Irresistible,” marking their debut on Bassrush Records. Out now, the track blends cinematic tension with dancefloor energy, delivering a sea-sprayed, moody DnB journey that highlights the duo’s long-standing synergy.
Built around an infectious vocal hook, “Irresistible” captures the magnetic pull of curiosity and attraction. Shanty-tinged undertones drift over oscillating organ leads and euphoric sylenth chords, while wailing electric guitar riffs cut through the mix, layering rogue-rock energy atop tightly engineered drums. The result is a cinematic voyage that feels stormy, suspenseful, and irresistibly danceable.
Primate shares on the collaboration: “‘Irresistible’ started before our Pukkelpop debut last summer. We wanted a track that stood out: long, suspenseful, with a catchy commercial edge but still heavy enough for our crowd. The energy builds through a strong vocal hook and rising tension before the drop hits, driven by sustained bass. We’ve been playing it in almost every set for the past year—it always connects.”
Following their successful 2024 releases “Body” and “Everything You Say,” the pair continues to showcase their chemistry across tempos and moods. Ghent-born Primate has evolved from jump-up firestarter to one of Belgium’s most versatile DnB artists, with collaborations spanning Turno, Majistrate, and Pirapus, while his live sets include NYE at The Nest Nottingham alongside Bou and Friction.
Captain Bass, hailing from Herne, is known for high-intensity, genre-blurring sets spanning drum & bass, dubstep, and full-throttle dancefloor energy. With collaborations alongside Hedex, Turno, and Georgie Riot, and radio support from BBC Radio 1, Kiss FM UK, and Studio Brussels, his reach extends well beyond Belgium, with performances at Rampage, DNB Allstars Festival, Tomorrowland, and Sunrise Festival.
