Dance in the Snow to GRiZ, Desert Hearts and Claptone at Powabunga

by The Freaks - Staff

Following a successful debut in Vail, Colorado last year, Powabunga expands from two to three days with its first edition in the Sierra Nevadas in Lake Tahoe March 20-22, then returns to Vail April 17-19. This unique event combines the athletically inclined winter wonderland of the slopes with music festival vibes, creating an immersive adventure including top-notch mountain resorts, apres-ski activities, indoor after parties and groovy live music and DJs.

Headlining the inaugural Powabunga on the shores of Lake Tahoe in Crystal Bay, Nevada, at the Tahoe Biltmore and Crystal Bay Club, will be the sweet electronic house sounds of Bob Moses, the deep house production of Anjunadeep duo Eli & Fur, and the tribal tech house beats of the Desert Hearts crew: Mikey Lion, Lee Reynolds, Porky and Marbs. The sweet melodic house of Claptone, the sublime mushroom jazz of Mark Farina, and more artists will be playing both events.

Colorado favorite GRiZ, the inventive and nostalgic electronic band Goldfish, as well as disco house baron Purple Disco Machine are headlining the Vail Powabunga. This will take place over the closing weekend in Vail Valley, and we can’t think of a more proper way to shut down the ski and snowboard season. The main sets go from 4-10 p.m. each day, and then you can float over to Dobson Arena in the middle of Vail Village for an after party with the worldly sounds of Istanbul’s Carlita on Friday and a Desert Hearts takeover to dance the night away with Mikey, Lee, Marbs and Porky on Saturday.

Powabunga 2020 Teaser

Ticket packages are now available for both Powabunga events with 3-Day GA Passes starting at $146.79 after fees. Lodging deals through the Powabunga website begin at only $99 in Tahoe and $125 in Vail. If you’re looking for the dopest weekend to hit the slopes, this is it!

Additionally, Powabunga 2020 has partnered with Ski House to produce a series of premium dance events in mountain resort towns this winter. The just-announced first stop will bring Dirtybird house-stars Justin Jay and J. Worra to Aspen for the X Games on January 23. You can find tickets and info for that here, and the full Powabunga lineups below.
