Poni Makes Label Debut With Hellscape EP

Poni Unleashes Dark and Haunting ‘Hellscape’ EP on HypnoVizion

by Press Release

Rising female dark electronic artist Poni has made her label debut with the release of the Hellscape EP, available now via HypnoVizion. This conceptual project features three gritty and alluring midtempo bass tracks, delving deep into themes of torment, despair, and gothic lyricism. With haunting melodies and emotionally-charged vocals, Hellscape explores the darkness of human experience, blending Poni’s own voice with collaborations from Satin Puppets and Notelle.

Poni describes the EP’s concept as a journey through “calamitous times and places void of hope,” unraveling stories of vengeance, toxic relationships, and societal despair. Each track paints a grim yet captivating narrative, tied together by the sinister workings of Apep, the demon of darkness and destruction in Poni’s reimagining. “Is there really no hope though? That’s up for interpretation,” she reflects.

The EP features the following tracks:

  1. Leeches (featuring Satin Puppets)
  2. Leave You In The Dark (featuring Notelle)
  3. Conceptual Reality (featuring Poni’s own vocals)

After gaining recognition with previous releases on RL Grime’s Sable Valley, Kayzo’s Welcome Records, and PhaseOne’s Sounds Of Mayhem, Poni’s latest release on HypnoVizion marks a significant milestone in her career. The Vancouver-born, Denver-based artist continues to make waves in the dark electronic scene, following in the footsteps of fellow female bass acts like NotLö, TINYKVT, and fknsyd who have previously landed on Rezz’s label.

Poni will be performing alongside Rezz during the HypnoVizion label head’s two-night takeover at SILO in Dallas, TX on December 7 and will continue her tour with upcoming shows at Webster Hall in New York and The Bluebird Theater in Denver.

Stream Poni’s Hellscape EP now on all platforms and experience the spine-tingling journey into the dark unknown.
