Following viral success flipping tracks by Billie Eilish and Sabrina Carpenter, rising producer Phrva steps firmly into his own spotlight with the release of his six-track Genesis EP, arriving October 10 via Deadbeats. Crafted as both a declaration of artistic identity and a weapon for the live stage, Genesis fuses guttural basslines, sharp production, and electrifying vocals into a bold showcase of Phrva’s forward-thinking sound.
“Genesis is very much a ‘let me talk my s—’ record,” shares Phrva. “It’s all about confidence and not doubting myself. As musicians—and people in general—we’re so prone to comparison, questioning if what we’re doing is actually enough. This project was all about me saying, ‘f— that, let me show what I can do.’ I explored a few different angles of dubstep throughout this EP, including the more mellow ‘Reach Me’ with Rico 56, which is easily one of my favorite songs I’ve ever written. At the end of the day, I hope people can give this a front-to-back listen and walk away going, ‘Okay, this is Phrva.’”
The Genesis EP unfolds as a commanding statement of intent. It opens with “Genesis,” a cinematic, heavy-hitting introduction that sets the tone for the project’s unapologetic confidence. “Like This,” featuring grime legend Killa P, pairs Phrva’s explosive bass design with Killa’s razor-edged bars, fusing the raw energy of UK grime with modern bass chaos. On “Collected,” Phrva joins forces with Denver’s rising act Don Jamal and UK powerhouse Rakjay for a frenzied cut that merges drill-inspired flows with relentless low-end intensity.
“Wanna Go” showcases Phrva’s melodic sensibility, weaving hypnotic synths and driving percussion into a track that bridges headphone introspection with festival-scale energy. “Payday,” featuring PAV4N, one of Denver’s most commanding new voices, hits with gritty force—his unmistakable delivery cutting through Phrva’s raw, high-voltage production. The EP closes with “Reach Me” featuring Rico 56, where soulful, emotive vocals meet hypnotic basslines to form the record’s emotional core and cinematic finale.
In the months leading up to Genesis, Phrva has been cultivating a dedicated following through a string of underground pop-up shows across Los Angeles, alongside standout festival appearances at Shambhala and Lightning in a Bottle. His live momentum continues to build, with an upcoming set at Supernatural Fest further solidifying his reputation as a live force.
To mark the release, Phrva will host a special Genesis pop-up event in Los Angeles on Tuesday, October 6, ahead of the official EP drop. With this powerful new chapter, Phrva cements himself as one of bass music’s most exciting innovators—blending underground intensity, creative vision, and boundary-pushing sound design into a project that redefines his artistic identity.
