It was perfect November night in Houston, Texas and tonight Trance was on the agenda. Paul van Dyk was nearing the end of his Mission: Guiding Light Tour and he was the main event at Stereo Live. Road-testing his new tracks through a 12-city North American Tour in preparation for the release of his 10th studio album “Mission: Guiding Light” in 2020.
Van Dyk had already blown away fans all across The States and tonight in Houston we were ready to party the night away with this Trance legend. Local openers started the show and set the vibe of what was to be an extraordinary evening. They kept the crowd on their feet and having an excellent time in the main area as well as the patio. The venue started to fill up as the night went on and once PVD hit the stage the place was packed! Everyone was pumped and eager for van Dyk to begin.
Each set van Dyk performs is always a treat and differs from city to city, he doesn’t just DJ, he has a full live set-up for a unique performance. Once he took the stage the energy did not let up for the entirety of his set. He played classic tracks such as “Lights”, “Don’t Deserve You”, “Music Rescues Me” and “Home”. He also showcased brand new yet to be released songs, which I am totally looking forward to hearing on “Mission: Guiding Light”.
His whole set was incredible; energetic, soul-touching, crowd hypnotizing, and pure classic PVD. He always amazes and takes his fans on a journey with his sound. He definitely took the Houston crowd to another level not just with his music but with the lasers which were out of this world. Sadly, the fun can’t last forever and it quickly turned two and the evening came to a close. However, Van Dyk was not done just yet, he surprised his fans and came down from the stage to take photos and chat with the crowd. PVD’s North American tour ended this weekend in Denver and he will be making his way back to Europe for a few remaining tour dates to finish out 2019.
You better believe the New Year will be jam-packed for this Trance heavy-weight. He is releasing his 10th studio album “Mission: Guiding Light” early next year and his tour schedule is always loaded with dates all across the globe. Not to mention his residency Shine Ibiza which is slated to begin in July. If you haven’t experienced seeing Paul van Dyk, make that your resolution for 2020! The man is a legend and gets better every freakin year.
