Paul van Dyk | Mission: Guiding Light, The Politics of Dancing, and Shine Ibiza | Celebrating a New Tour, New Music, and Milestones

Trance Legend Paul van Dyk is having a super hectic end of 2019. He is launching his Mission: Guiding Light North American tour this week, he just announced the 2020 dates for Shine Ibiza and his breakthrough album “The Politics of Dancing” just celebrated 18 years! Van Dyk is also preparing for an amazing 2020 with the release of his 10th studio album Mission: Guiding Light.

Let me take you back to a different time, the year was 2001 and the crackdown on raves was in full swing in America. The once lively warehouse raves of the 90s were quickly getting shut down in every state. This was pushing the promoters to more corporate venues and making way for the music to get a mainstream audience. It was then that PVD released his groundbreaking compilation album “The Politics of Dancing”.

“The Politics of Dancing” is a two-disc masterpiece. One of those albums that you come across every now and again where you can listen to it in its entirety without skipping a track. Club hits like his remix of iiO’s “Rapture”, Nu NRG “Dreamland, and 4 Strings “Into the Night; each track lending its magic to the album’s overall imprint on a generation.

Fast-forward several years, albums and compilation sets later; PVD is on the cusp of releasing his 10th studio album Mission: Guiding light. This album will prove once again the innovation this Trance heavyweight has been delivering since he first stepped onto the scene in the early 90s. Each album takes you on a musical journey and Mission: Guiding Light will be no exception. Road testing the new tracks on a 12-city North America tour which starts this week in Miami, we can expect only the best from PVD.

“It’s always an aim to inspire others through music, and that’s my mission with my new album Guiding Light. I collaborated with some of the most talented up and coming artists in trance music over the past year, recording sessions across the world from my home studio in Berlin to hotel rooms in far corners of the globe. It’ll be a joy to share the album with my North American fans for the first time, can’t wait to see you all soon.”

I can’t wait to get a taste of what’s to come on Mission: Guiding Light. Van Dyk’s sets are always outstanding, he doesn’t just DJ his performance but he has a full live setup! That’s why his shows are always different and you never know what to expect when you see him perform. Catch him in New York, Chicago, Atlanta, and Houston; where I’ll be dancing in the front row.

If traveling far and wide for amazing music is your fancy, it’s time to make your 2020 Ibiza plans. Just announced this month, the 2020 Shine Ibiza summer dates at Club Eden will be July 9th through September 20th. Hopefully, this year will be the year where I make my arrangements and check out Shine Ibiza for myself.

Van Dyk’s career has spanned over decades and he shows no sign of slowing down. His tour scheduled is one to marvel; he tours non-stop all over the world at some of the biggest festivals, plays numerous club shows and has his own residency. He continues to release mind-blowing tracks and next year we get a brand-new album. He also gives back, his label Vandit is always on the hunt for new talent. He helps up and coming artists pursue their dreams of music stardom and gives them a platform to debut their releases. He is a shining example of how veterans in the scene can guide a new generation.

Make your plans today and find out where you can check out the Mission: Guiding Light tour and van Dyk’s new album is out everywhere in early 2020.
