Paris-based techno producer ONYVAA makes her debut on Factory 93 Records with the raw, groove-driven two-track EP ‘State of Flow / Between Worlds’, a release that captures the evolving duality at the core of her sound.
Originally a California native, ONYVAA has steadily carved out her own lane within the global underground. Known for fabricating rich textures from personal field recordings and delivering intricate modular live sets, experimentation has become a defining hallmark of her artistry. Her resume behind the decks speaks volumes, with standout performances at EDC Las Vegas, Tomorrowland, fabric, Circoloco, Amnesia, and Hï Ibiza. Drawing influence from Detroit techno while weaving in elements of trance and house, she continues to refine a sound that feels both cerebral and physical.
Already championed by scene-defining figures such as Charlotte de Witte, Richie Hawtin, Carl Cox, and Laurent Garnier, ONYVAA arrives on the Factory 93 imprint leaning fully into her genre-fluid instincts. ‘State of Flow / Between Worlds’ serves as a double-sided statement, showcasing the breadth of her sonic vocabulary while remaining locked to the dancefloor.
The EP opens with “State of Flow,” a deep, propulsive roller engineered for after-hours hypnosis. Rubberized low-end pressure drives the track forward as sharp percussive loops, hardgroove-inflected rhythms, crisp cowbell hits, and detuned stabs intertwine with snarling acid lines. It’s relentless yet fluid, designed to pull listeners into a sustained state of motion.
On the flip side, “Between Worlds” explores a more ethereal, trance-leaning dimension. Spacious and immersive, the track unfolds through euphonious vocal fragments, shimmering two-note motifs, bright bongo accents, and squelchy oscillators that inject tension into its euphoric core. The result is a balanced contrast—uplifting without losing its edge.
Reflecting on the duality behind the release, ONYVAA shares, “‘State of Flow’ and ‘Between Worlds’ reflect the shift happening in my sound right now. I’ve been exploring the space where contrasts meet, blending the hypnotic energy of techno with more organic, housier elements that feel alive and human. I love playing with opposites and finding harmony in unexpected places. These tracks hold the emotional shift I’ve been feeling, a pull toward music that moves both the body and something deeper.”
With her double-sided debut on Factory 93 Records, ONYVAA reinforces her reputation for crafting deeply intuitive, forward-thinking techno. ‘State of Flow / Between Worlds’ not only captures a personal evolution in her sound, but also signals a bold next chapter—one rooted in contrast, emotion, and underground power.
ONYVAA’s new double-sided single ‘State of Flow / Between Worlds’ is available now on all platforms via Factory 93 Records.
