Could a blossoming friendship come to be because of a single vodka soda? In The Case Of The Mondays, this simple yet profound beverage sparked more than just a new friendship, but perhaps a whole new genre of House music. Joni T and La Dooda, aka Joni and Andrew, began their journey after they started hosting a weekly Raw House Night Party in Whistler, Canada. After many successful and legendary parties, the boys combined their forces and The Case Of The Mondays was born. After a hella tight remix of “Bad and Boujee,” these boys found their space in the West Coast House music scene.
When asked to describe their sound it can be simply put as “Deep in Tone and Ghetto by nature.” The name for this inspired new genre of House? “Fun House.” These boys have swept our West Coast scene keeping people dancing all night resulting in a cheeky “sick” call into work the next morning. The expanse of their vibe has grown past the West Coast and their success has made them a favourite headliner at many Canadian festivals, as well as rocking Columbian Pool Parties, and pulling some killer collabs with artists such as Paul Oakenfold, Pendulum, and Motez. Alongside their collaborations with world-renown artists, COTM has also released some killer tracks on labels such as Westwood Recordings, Dirtybird Records, and their own COTM Records. In fact, one of their latest tracks was dropped by Poppa Claude VonStroke himself in one of his recent live streams.
COTM sound will make you groove until the sun rises Monday morning. With their eyes set to have one of the best years yet ahead, earning their inaugural Shambhala Music Festival slot along with booking some other bucket list festivals, 2020 had a different reality in mind. The unfortunate cancellation of many festivals across the world has resulted in many pushbacks on track releases and lineup announcements, but that doesn’t mean you can’t expect anything from this legendary duo. “We are just waiting for the right timing,” said Joni when asked what we can expect. To keep spirits high, they came out with a hilarious Quarantine vid. Due to the impending doom of 2020, the boys decided to highlight their many accomplishments of 2019, check it out below. Keep your eyes on these rising House icons for some killer new releases in the upcoming months that will be the soundtrack to your summer.
