The enigmatic electronic duo Nation have announced the upcoming release of Nation 2 Remixes, a bold reimagining of their acclaimed sophomore album that arrives this Friday. Marking the pair’s first release in a year, the project embraces the experimental spirit that has defined their music, inviting a carefully curated roster of producers to completely reinterpret the source material without creative limitations.

Rather than commissioning traditional remixes, Nation shared a Dropbox folder of stems with a select group of artists they admire and encouraged them to reshape the songs however they saw fit. The result is a collection that pushes the original material into unexpected territory, with contributions from DJ Travella, DJ Stingray, ESP, Eurohead, ideasforconversation, and several additional collaborators, each bringing their own distinctive perspective to the duo’s unconventional sonic world.

The remix album builds on the adventurous foundation established by Nation 2, transforming its genre-defying compositions into even more unpredictable forms while preserving the experimental energy that has become synonymous with the project. The release further showcases Nation‘s willingness to blur musical boundaries, allowing each contributor to stretch the songs into entirely new creative dimensions.

The announcement follows a year of growing momentum for the Los Angeles duo. Since the release of their 2025 sophomore album Nation 2, Fresh Jame and Funball have continued expanding their devoted global following through a series of live performances alongside artists including Surf Gang, Frost Children, Yves Tumor, Mechatok, and others.

Across its 13 tracks, Nation 2 highlighted the duo’s distinctive fusion of synth-pop, new wave electronics, post-punk textures, and experimental club music. Standout tracks such as “NahWhat”“Weeop”, and “Cry8,”  featuring Swedish producer Varg²™, further established the pair’s unpredictable songwriting and adventurous production style.

The album also strengthened Nation‘s longstanding creative relationship with Drain Gang founder Ecco2k, who appeared on both “Nobody’s Fault” and “Touch.” Those collaborations reinforced the duo’s connection to the wider YEAR0001 creative community while introducing their music to an even broader international audience.

Looking ahead, Nation are preparing to bring their evolving sound to the stage in support of Evanora Unlimited on the upcoming EU tour, with additional live performances expected to be announced throughout the summer. As their audience continues to grow and their artistic vision expands, Nation 2 Remixes signals another ambitious step forward—one that transforms an already adventurous record into an entirely new listening experience while setting the stage for the duo’s next creative chapter.
