Lisbon-based duo MXGPU, composed of longtime Portuguese electronic trailblazer Moullinex and singer/producer GPU Panic, unveil their new single “find u”, out now via Discotexas. The release builds anticipation for their debut album, Sudden Light, set to arrive on September 26.
With “find u,” MXGPU step outside their established sonic palette, fusing liquid drum & bass rhythms with clipped synth lines and emotionally resonant lyrics. A core theme of vulnerability and connection emerges in the song’s refrain: “I’m saving time for me and you / I’m there to guide you through it all,” offering a glimpse into the duo’s shared ethos of presence and intimacy through sound.
“‘find u’ was always an outlier while writing Sudden Light,” MXGPU explain. “It never quite fit in. We knew it had two possible fates: end up in the bin, or take the spotlight. When we launched MXGPU, we committed to freedom and no safe choices, just instinct. The artists we admire most experiment with new genres like it’s second nature, and that gave us the confidence to write ‘find u,’ our wild card. We wear it proudly.”
MXGPU was born out of a deepening creative bond between Moullinex and GPU Panic, after the latter joined Moullinex’s live band. What started as a collaboration quickly evolved into a space for artistic reinvention, with both artists embracing vulnerability and spontaneity in their songwriting process.
This spirit also defines their live performances, which are immersive, in-the-round shows built on proximity and emotional resonance. At the center are GPU Panic’s raw, commanding vocals, surrounded by a meticulously designed audiovisual landscape: custom sci-fi visuals, light architecture inspired by James Turrell, and analog synths from Moog, Arturia, Teenage Engineering, and Dreadbox — all combining for a multi-sensory journey that feels both futuristic and human.
Following the single, MXGPU’s 2025 tour continues with a summer run across Portugal, including stops in Lisbon, Porto, and Guimarães, alongside major festival slots. This run marks a milestone moment for the duo as they announce their first-ever U.S. shows, scheduled for October in Brooklyn and Los Angeles.
