Techno fans around the world rejoiced this week when legendary festival Movement Detroit announced the stages and showcases for its twentieth anniversary! Movement Detroit 2020 will feature its original five stages, including the Movement Stage, the Red Bull Stage, the Pyramid Stage, the Resident Advisor Underground Stage and the Stargate Stage. Let’s take a look at the day by day breakdown!
DAY 1: The first day of Movement Detroit 2020 promises to start off with a bang, featuring an incredible “15 Years of Dirtybird” showcase at the Pyramid stage, a “Detroit Love” showcase featuring Techno legend and festival creator Carl Craig at the Stargate Stage, the Movement debut of UK’s Underworld, as well as the talents of Boris Brejcha, Maceo Plex, Terence Dixon, and Jon Hopkins, just to name a few.
DAY 2: Not to be outdone by Day 1, the second day of Movement Detroit promises just as much excitement and amazing music acts. The Origins Showcase at the Stargate Stage promises to be a mecca for Techno lovers, featuring genre pioneer Kevin Saunderson, Ellen Allien, Seth Troxler amongst others. The Movement Stage has a stacked lineup as well, featuring space-age Techno legend Adam Beyer, ANNA, Rebuke, and other tech mainstays. Don’t miss out on the other amazing artists throughout the day, including genre-bending The Black Madonna, rap artist A$AP Ferg, Joe Kay, TOKiMONSTA, 999999999 – live, and many others!
DAY 3: In order to compound the sadness of the last day of Movement Detroit, the lineup for the third and final day promises to lessen the blow for festival-goers with a punch of incredible music. I will personally find it extremely hard to leave the Area10 showcase at the Pyramid stage, presented by UK legend MK and featuring knockout acts like Chris Lake, Lee Foss, Dom Dolla, Detlef and Sonya Alvarez. However, I will definitely take some time for the Movement Stage, which features performances by Nina Kraviz, Matador, and deadmau5 as his Techno alias Testpilot. Plus, appearances by Loco Dice, Jamie xx, Marco Carola, Richie Hawtin, Kobosil, Four Tet, and Louie Vega, amongst many others!
With a stage lineup like that, Movement Detroit 2020 promises to be the best edition of the festival yet. Get your tickets today!
