Anjunadeep’s Moon Boots has been teasing us with new tracks for months in preparation for the release of his sophomore album “Bimini Road”. He did not disappoint! Bimini Road is a funky, jazzy, soulful, house gem. Each track has its own dynamic but has the same underlying groove that Moon Boots is known for.
“First Landing”, Moon Boots debut release has stood the test of time. It’s amassed over 35 million streams since its 2017 release and continues to burn up dance floors all across the world. “I Want Your Attention”, “Tear My Heart”, and the title track “First Landing” have all become Anjunadeep favorites.
“Bimini Road” will no doubt follow the same path to success. “Tied Up”, released earlier this summer has made waves across the country and has become a popular club track. It’s groovy, deep, soulful beats and airy lyrics are the perfect combo. “Clear” featuring Nic Hanson was released with an official music video which has a funky retro feel and matches the song perfectly. It’s smooth lyrics and deep disco vibe blend together fabulously.
Each track off “Bimini Road” is outstanding and the collaborators Moon Boots chooses to work with add an extra layer of genius to the songs. Nic Hanson, Steven Klavier, KONA, and Black Gatsby all make an appearance on the album as well as members of his seven-piece live band.
‘Bimini Road” is about discovering something new and escaping from the everyday. It’s a journey without a fixed destination, a road that could lead to a mythical paradise that’s ancient and yet futuristic. Or it might not! But that mystery is worth exploring. I experimented with lots of new styles and sounds but kept it grounded in what I do best. It’s an album with lots of dancefloor moments and a lot of heart.
Moon Boots
In support of the new album, Moon Boots will be hitting the road at the end of the month for a 16-date live tour. The Bimini Road Tour will feature a seven-piece band and is making stops in Los Angeles, Chicago, New York and right in my direction Austin, Texas. I can’t wait to check out Moon Boots along with his band. His DJ sets are something special and a live show will be phenomenal! Make sure to catch Moon Boots at a city near you.
