Spanning nine tracks, DUALITY traverses genres with fluidity, moving from trap to drum and bass, dubstep, house, and hyperpop, showcasing Montell2099’s boundaryless production style. The album opens with “2099_RADIO”, a rapid-fire collage teasing every track to come, before launching into “I MIGHT!”, a hard-hitting trap banger built for live performance. “ENDLESSLY” delivers a dubstep anthem with nostalgic vocals, while “SOMETHING 2 SAY” fuses pop/R&B vocal lines with bass-driven intensity sampling SAHXL’s “Overtime (Acoustic)”. Highlights continue with “LUV TONIGHT”, a nod to old-school dubstep, “ENERGY!!” surging into drum and bass, “PEACE OF MIND” exploring hyperpop textures, and the album closes on “HAIL”, a melodic tech-house comedown providing a reflective finale.
