MK X Duke Dumont | Delivering House Music All Night Long In Brooklyn

On Saturday, November 9th, house legends MK and Duke Dumont began their special one-off tour at Avant Gardner in Brooklyn. They’ll be playing three special shows together in NYC, San Francisco and Washington D.C. I had been counting down the days to this show as I personally really love both of these artists’ music and DJ sets. I was blown away at how amazing this particular event was! It was everything I wanted it to be and more — from beginning to end it was simply phenomenal.

MK started off his set a little after midnight, and for the next hour and a half we were blessed with signature tunes such as ‘Body 2 Body’, his remix of ‘Will We Talk?’ and his new single which is coming out this Friday with Sonny Fodera One Night’. The majority of MK’s set was underground, giving us vibes that made us feel like we were back in Ibiza. It was clear that MK wowed the crowd and gave us the set we didn’t even know we wanted, but needed that night. It was great to see MK change it up while still keeping true to his sound.

Following MK it was Duke Dumont’s turn to take over the decks for the next hour and a half. I haven’t seen the Duke in a while due to his limited touring schedule. If you get the chance to see him you shouldn’t even think twice, as you’ll probably be waiting for a while to catch him again. Duke Dumont played a very strict club-style techno set. The only house tracks he dropped were his own, hyping the crowd up by playing fan favorites such as ‘Need U (100%)’ and ‘The Giver’. It was a great set with plenty of surprises along the way. As we dug deeper into the journey, it was clear that both acts brought their A-game to this Brooklyn show. I had never seen Duke Dumont play techno. What a surprise!

What I truly loved about this show, was that you had two major club DJs playing heavy and deep-sets to a massive room of over 5000 open-minded fans. A challenge for any artist that is used to playing smaller and intimate sets, these two masters of sound took on the crowd with a zest for life and artistry, whileP delivering an unbelievable performance. You can still catch the two remaining dates of this special tour in Washington D.C. and San Francisco. So be sure you grab tickets to those and enjoy those two special nights while you still can!
