Paris-based DJ/producer Me & George continues to turn heads with the fourth single from his forthcoming wUrK it EP. Titled “Umami” and featuring fellow French talent Povoa, the track is out now via Halfpipe Records—a label that merges electronic music with the rebellious spirit of skateboarding culture.
Landing ahead of the full five-track wUrK it EP, set for release on June 20, “Umami” dives headfirst into club-ready techno with a bold, creative twist. Anchored by shuffling percussion, gritty synth stabs, and a standout organ riff, the single pulls in hardgroove influences while maintaining the intricate, character-rich textures that define Me & George’s sound. It’s a high-energy cut built for late-night floors, offering an irresistible mix of raw edge and melodic uplift.
The wUrK it EP is more than a record—it’s a concept brought to life through Me & George’s monthly residency at Sacré, one of Paris’ most respected underground clubs. Each single release coincides with a secret guest performance at the event. Previous editions have included surprise B2Bs with artists like 1-800 Girls, who also featured on the March single “Conversation.” This month, Povoa joins the April 18 event to celebrate the release of “Umami.”
So far, the EP rollout has delivered a diverse palette of sounds. “Get High” introduced grimey dubstep textures before launching into speed garage mayhem, driven by vocals from Human Movement. January’s “u told me,” created with Boston Bun, struck a more introspective chord—an emotional, house-driven anthem. “Conversation” with 1-800 Girls followed, balancing bouncy percussion with soft, euphoric pads and vocals for a heartfelt ride.
Debuting in late 2023 with the George EP, Me & George has quickly built a reputation as one of France’s most forward-thinking dance artists. His eclectic style—bridging UK garage, breaks, house, and techno—has earned praise and remixes from tastemakers like Logic1000, Laurence Guy, Baltra, and Model Man. With over eight million streams and performances across the UK, Germany, and Netherlands, his ascent continues.
The wUrK it EP drops June 20 via Halfpipe Records, but “Umami” offers a fresh taste of what’s to come. Be sure to stream the single now and catch Me & George in action at Sacré, where Paris’ underground club culture meets a truly genre-defiant sound.
