Dutch DJ and producer Mau P is set to make his debut on Defected Records with his latest track, ‘Merther,’ a hard-hitting electronic anthem designed for the club. Known for his heavy production style, Mau P has quickly risen to prominence in the global house scene, with solo releases like ‘On Again’ and ‘BEATS FOR THE UNDERGROUND’ topping the Beatport, Shazam, and Spotify charts. His skillful sound has also led to official remixes for iconic artists such as Calvin Harris, Swedish House Mafia, and Armand Van Helden.
Mau P expresses his excitement about the release, saying, “I’m so stoked to finally release ‘Merther’ after testing it on the road for a long time. It’s sick that I get to put this out with the legendary sample from Ini Kamoze’s ‘World A Music.’ I didn’t think this would be remotely possible a few years ago, but here we are.” He added that ‘Merther’ has been a staple in Solomun’s sets and received support from Michael Bibi, both of whom he admires.
‘Merther’ features an unmistakable sample from Ini Kamoze’s iconic reggae track, giving it an infectious edge that has already seen support from top names like Solomun, Camelphat, John Summit, and Patrick Topping over the summer. With ADE 2024 approaching, the track is primed to dominate dancefloors not only during the festival but well beyond.
Mau P‘s ‘Merther’ will be released on October 18 via Defected Records. Pre-order and pre-save links are now available at Defected.
Prepare to hear ‘Merther’ become one of the standout tracks in electronic music this season.
