Marshmello kicks off another dynamic year by teaming up with rising dance-pop force INJI for their lively new collaboration, “Kissin My Friends,” out now via Joytime Collective. The track arrives as a punchy fusion of pop attitude and dance-floor energy, pairing shuffling rhythms and touches of drum & bass with INJI’s playful, self-aware storytelling about late-night impulses and chaotic chemistry.
After teasing the song on TikTok, the duo delivers a carefree anthem built for nights that don’t always go as planned—but make for the best memories.
INJI shared the story behind the collaboration, recalling her disbelief when Marshmello first reached out:
“When Marshmello DM’d me saying he had a song for me, I thought his account was hacked. He said he kept seeing my videos on TikTok—at a time when I was getting no attention. You never know who’s watching! He told me he knew he’d found the artist for ‘Kissin My Friends.’ When I heard it, I fell in love instantly. It’s huge, it flows, it has that drum and bass danceability, and it carries this flirty, nostalgic optimism that felt weirdly accurate for my life.”
The release follows a strong 2025 for Marshmello, who opened the year with “Slow Motion” alongside The Jonas Brothers, a streaming favorite now surpassing 50 million Spotify plays and fueling stadium performances with the trio. He continued exploring new sonic territory with Ellie Goulding and AVAION on “Save My Love,” and pushed deeper into country-electronic crossovers through collaborations with Jelly Roll on “Holy Water” and Hudson Westbrook on “Better Man Than Me.”
Meanwhile, INJI continues her rapid ascent. The Istanbul-born, New York–based artist first broke through with TikTok-fueled hits like “GASLIGHT” and “BELLYDANCING,” which amassed tens of millions of streams and cemented her as a fresh voice in electro-pop. Recognized as Billboard’s October Dance Rookie of the Month, she now prepares for a major 2026 headline tour, including stops at Los Angeles’ Fonda Theatre, New York’s Webster Hall, and London’s Koko.
With “Kissin My Friends,” Marshmello and INJI deliver a vibrant, cheeky, and club-ready release that captures the unpredictable thrill of nights out—and marks another standout moment for both artists as they charge into 2025.
