Dominican-American artist María Isabel unveils a vibrant new track from her forthcoming debut full-length with “Suiza,” released today. Produced by Grammy-winning El Guincho (Charli XCX, Rosalía, FKA twigs), the single is paired with a music video directed by Olivia de Camps, celebrating María Isabel’s Dominican heritage and cultural roots.
“Suiza” signals the evolving sound of María Isabel’s next project, reflecting her upbringing as a Dominican-American in New York City, immersed in the city’s global musical landscape. Working with El Guincho, she explores newfound artistic confidence shaped by travel and lived experience, blending influences from her formative homes of New York City and the Dominican Republic. The track pulses with energy as a radiant dembow anthem, complementing her dual musical identity.
The release also marks the official streaming debut of “Sunset Tower,” previously teased on social media, as part of a three-track bundle including her lead single “Bien Bien.” The latter was praised by Remezcla as “a powerful statement about María Isabel’s roots…and the perfect soundtrack to blast while glamorously tearing up the floor.”
Building on the soul-bearing R&B of her 2021 EPs, Stuck in the Sky and i hope you’re very unhappy without me, María Isabel continues to draw attention from Rolling Stone, Vogue, Pigeons & Planes, Wonderland, and NYLON for her incisive, bilingual songwriting.
“Suiza” offers a bold glimpse into María Isabel’s evolving sound, with fans eagerly anticipating her imminent full-length release.
