Lost In Dreams kicks off 2026 in full stride with the release of Gateway Vol. 9, the latest chapter in its long-running compilation series. The four-track project delivers a wide-ranging snapshot of the label’s forward-thinking sound, weaving together future bass, trap, house, melodic bass, and beyond. Featuring new material from SYSTEM KIDS, ElmyX, Simona Shao, Postcard, and SYNTHYA, the compilation highlights a new generation of artists shaping the emotional core of modern electronic music.
Leading the release is SYSTEM KIDS with “Do It,” a future bass anthem that channels early 2010s nostalgia through a modern lens. Crisp claps, swelling basslines, and a glossy synth lead immediately set the tone before the track pivots into towering builds and an explosive trap-leaning drop. Cascading arpeggios, gritty low-end pressure, and sharp wubs push the track into darker territory as it unfolds, giving “Do It” a festival-ready energy that balances emotion with raw power.
“I really wanted to grab from that feeling of nostalgia but with a modern take,” SYSTEM KIDS shares. “For me, having a song that makes you feel something right away is super important.”
House fans are treated to “Waiting For You,” a vibrant collaboration from ElmyX and Simona Shao. Following their recent work together alongside Habstrakt, the duo leans into a feel-good piano house groove layered with warmth and intimacy. A filtered introduction sets a dreamy mood before Simona Shao’s sultry vocals glide across the arrangement. The drops burst with bouncy piano chords and breezy leads, delivering an uplifting rush that feels tailor-made for summer dancefloors and late-night drives alike.
“This one is kinda new for me,” says ElmyX. “I wanted to try something different with Simona—nostalgic piano house vibes with euphoric leads and melodies. Her vocals worked perfectly with the track.”
On “Rewind,” Postcard explores a more introspective space, blending future bass with touches of trance and trap. Emotional chords and distant vocal textures set a melancholic tone before trance-inspired arpeggios lift the energy into cathartic drops. Snapping drums, glitchy fills, and chopped vocals mirror the track’s central theme: longing for a past that can’t quite be reclaimed. The result is a deeply emotive record that moves fluidly between reflection and release.
“‘Rewind’ is inspired by the feeling of wanting to go back to someone who is no longer there,” Postcard explains. “The glitches, tape stops, and trance influences all reinforce that idea of rewinding time and memories.”
Closing out the compilation is SYNTHYA’s “Dream Recall,” a shape-shifting journey that blurs genre boundaries. Hypnotic arpeggios, spoken-word vocals, and lush pads create a hazy atmosphere before UK rap verses ground the track momentarily. From there, it evolves into a four-on-the-floor groove inspired by classic ’90s Euro dance, complete with bouncy piano lines and diva-style vocal moments. A futuristic, trance-tinged techno finale caps off the experience, reinforcing the track’s constantly evolving nature.
“I hope ‘Dream Recall’ provides a little journey for you,” says SYNTHYA. “I’m so happy to be part of Gateway Vol. 9 and the Lost In Dreams family.”
Together, Gateway Vol. 9 serves as both a statement and an invitation—opening the door to new sounds, new voices, and the emotional depth that defines the Lost In Dreams ethos. As the label steps into 2026, the compilation reinforces its role as a launchpad for emerging talent and a home for melodic, forward-looking electronic music.
