Jargen has emerged from the sleeping giant of the nightlife of Jakarta which has been considered a fringe destination for many years. Especially since the recent emergence of superclubs in the city and success of festivals like Jakarta Warehouse Project. A great deal of fresh talent has come out of the region, including Jargen—who Claude VonStroke has set his sights on for DIRTYBIRD‘s latest release. “Rhythm Poetry” which landed on April 10.
You might have heard of Jargen before; under his dubstep alias Abimanyu, the artist found regular support from the likes of Excision and UZ—the latter of which has signed Jargen’s records onto his Quality Goods imprint. After exploring the Bass community for quite some time, he began to feel worn from the scene. He felt as though he was overthinking his music and forgetting his inspiration. It was at that point in his life that he had rediscovered his love of House music. He found his calling between the soulful grooves and uplifting beats leading to his newfound space.
Not many Bass producers change ways and move to the House music scene, but Jargen’s switch has paid off. By following his passions and committing to the grind things have paid off by landing a mentorship with the one and only Claude VonStroke. With the unfortunate happenings of COVID-19, a little bit of inspiration goes a long way. Quarantine has kept us all inside, which has led to Jargen creating an uplifting and inspiring playlist to be the soundtrack to your quarantine.
Here are some songs that help me get through the lockdown, including my newest single on DIRTYBIRD “Rhythm Poetry”. Hope you guys enjoy it during the quarantine and don’t forget to stay safe!
