Rising producer and DJ Kotiē̄r makes a stunning entrance to Rose Avenue Records with his introspective and rhythmically rich new Static Soul EP, available now on all streaming platforms.
At just 24, Kotiē̄r—who splits his time between Berlin and New York—brings a refined and emotionally intelligent sound to his latest two-track offering. Drawing on his classical roots as a trained pianist and his background in computer science, the EP blends organic and synthetic textures into an immersive listening experience that explores tension and release, memory and transformation.
Opening with “Lēthē”, named after the mythical river of forgetfulness, Kotiē̄r lays down breakbeat-tinged synths and shimmering textures, inviting listeners into a contemplative headspace. The title track, “Static Soul”, pushes into more futuristic territory—anchored by a deep groove and swirling melodic layers that flirt between ethereal house and deep techno. Together, the tracks form a yin-yang pairing, exuding both emotional depth and kinetic energy.
“This EP plays with contrast: stillness and motion, memory and momentum. It’s introspective, but there’s a rhythm running through everything — something that keeps it grounded, even as it evolves,” says Kotiē̄r.
The Static Soul EP also marks a milestone for Kotiē̄r as his first release with Rose Avenue, the respected label founded by RÜFÜS DU SOL.
