On December 13th, Jauz’s celebrated Bite This! imprint continues its seventh-anniversary festivities with a landmark release. Kill Safari, the collaborative project of Kill the Noise and Bro Safari, delivers a powerful remix of ‘Boss’ by AFK and Carbin, the track that launched the label in 2018.
The reimagined version amplifies the original’s explosive energy with an intricate fusion of dubstep and trap, showcasing Kill Safari’s signature bold production style. On the remix, Kill Safari states, “‘Boss’ was the kind of tune that came along and changed the conversation about ‘what’s cool’ as soon as it dropped. The original mix is the true definition of a modern classic. There isn’t much else to say other than our version has been going off live, and we feel lucky to have done an official remix of such an iconic song.”
This release follows a remarkable 2023 for Bite This!, which has been defined by standout tracks from rising stars like Edison Cole and STUCA. Cole’s ‘BACK AGAIN’ delivered a compelling mix of emotive melodies and intense bass drops, while STUCA’s ‘World on Fire’ blended industrial basslines with pop-infused hooks, expanding the label’s sound.
With a focus on fostering creativity and breaking genre boundaries, Bite This! has evolved under Jauz’s leadership into a global platform for underground and experimental artists. Collaborating with ONErpm, the label has amplified its reach while remaining true to its roots. From curating innovative compilations to hosting label takeovers, Bite This! continues to redefine bass music’s future.
The Kill Safari remix of ‘Boss’ not only celebrates the label’s legacy but also reinforces its influence as a cutting-edge force in electronic music. As Bite This! enters its next chapter, it solidifies its place at the forefront of the bass music scene, championing innovation and community on a global scale.
