Electro-pop powerhouse Kiesza officially returns with Dancing and Crying: Volume 3, the latest installment in her ongoing dance-focused series, released today, May 8. Blending emotional vulnerability with euphoric club energy, the new project further reaffirms Kiesza’s place as one of modern dance-pop’s most distinctive and fearless voices.

The EP arrives following the release of standout singles “When I’m Dancing” and “Good Morning America,” tracks that showcased the more politically charged and defiant side of her artistry while continuing to embrace the communal spirit of dance music culture. Across Dancing and Crying: Volume 3, themes of freedom, self-expression, joy, and nonconformity remain central, creating a project that feels both deeply personal and built for collective release on the dancefloor.

Leading the release is the emotionally resonant focus track “With You,” accompanied by a vibrant visualizer that further captures the project’s colorful and immersive atmosphere. Sonically, the EP leans into psychedelic textures and groove-driven production while maintaining the emotionally raw songwriting that has long defined Kiesza’s catalog.

Reflecting on the creative process behind the project, Kiesza described the experience as intensely immersive and transformative.

“I was reminded, through this journey of Dancing and Crying: Volume 3, that all art has its own rhythm and the artists need to synchronize with it,” she shared. “This process pulled all of us into a little alternate universe, like an inescapable vortex we all fell into. It’s hard to complete projects that feel this way. You feel lost when it’s over and sharing it can feel fragmented after being so immersed in the process. But I’m excited for everyone who now gets to experience these songs and fall into their own vortex as we all did.”

Executive producer Jess Cake echoed that sentiment, describing the project as both emotionally expansive and sonically adventurous.

“As a dance record, it leans slightly psychedelic at times,” Jess Cake explained. “Much like Kiesza, it’s groovy and fearless. It’s genuinely a journey of dancing and crying all at once.”

The release also signals the beginning of a new live chapter for Kiesza, who is set to return to the road this spring with a run of performances across the eastern United States before heading overseas for club dates in France, Denmark, Germany, and the United Kingdom. The tour will eventually circle back through the American northeast, concluding at Williamsburg Music Hall in New York City.

Additional appearances include a performance slot at London’s Mighty Hoopla Festival, further reinforcing Kiesza’s enduring connection to queer nightlife culture and global dance music audiences.

Joining her on the East Coast U.S. dates is genre-blurring artist Rye Rye, while Kiesza will also perform alongside dancer Jaylen Brown and producer Jess Cake, who will handle live DJ duties onstage.

With Dancing and Crying: Volume 3, Kiesza continues to evolve beyond traditional pop formulas, crafting music that embraces emotional contradiction and dancefloor catharsis in equal measure. The result is a project that feels simultaneously intimate, liberating, and designed for communal experience — a reminder that vulnerability and celebration often exist side by side within great dance music.
