Kevin Knapp makes his mark on Dirtybird’s Flight Week series with the release of his new Bell Ringer EP, arriving today. The two-track project captures the energy and spontaneity of Knapp’s brief but highly productive stint at the label’s writing camp, turning just two days into a full-fledged release.
The lead track, “Bell Ringer,” features collaborations with Mz Worthy and Life On Planets, pairing sharp lyricism with playful production elements, including ringing cowbells that inject a mischievous spark. On “Gorilla,” Knapp teams up with SHADED to deliver a deep, groove-laden roller, full of swagger and club-ready finesse. Together, the tracks showcase Knapp’s quick-fire creativity and highlight Dirtybird’s signature party-starting energy.
Texas-born and San Francisco-trained, Knapp has steadily cemented his place as one of Dirtybird’s most versatile talents. His history with the label spans standout releases like “Dummer Loco” with Mat.Joe and Maximono (2020), “Dope Kid Central” (2022), and “Funky Enough” with Andreas Henneberg (2023). Last year, Knapp also contributed to Dirtybird’s inaugural Flight Week writing camp and performed at Dirtybird Campout x Northern Nights, further solidifying his role as a key contributor to the label’s evolving sound.
