Kasablanca has released the fourth single from their upcoming debut album, Higher Resolution (Side A), with their highly anticipated cover of The Prodigy’s iconic 1996 track, “Breathe.”
Originally a chart-topping hit in the late ’90s, “Breathe” was the second single from The Prodigy’s third album, The Fat of the Land. The track achieved widespread acclaim, reaching number 1 on the UK charts, earning 2x platinum certification, and solidifying its place as one of dance music’s most legendary tracks.
The cover by Kasablanca first gained attention during their 2023 performance at the Group Therapy Weekender at The Gorge Amphitheater. Their electrifying live rendition of “Breathe” quickly went viral, amassing millions of views across Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, and became the most shared electronic music video on Instagram by any melodic techno artist in 2023, with over 52,000 shares. Despite initially being a live exclusive, the overwhelming fan demand and the blessing from The Prodigy led to the official release of this track.
Kasablanca’s version of “Breathe” pays homage to the original while infusing it with modern acid house and techno elements, crafting a powerful mainstage anthem. This release follows their previous singles from the album, including “Remission” with Lane 8, “Terminal Feeling,” and “Daydream” with anamē. The first half of their debut album, Higher Resolution, will be released on October 4th, with a North American tour to follow this fall.
“Kasablanca – Breathe” is out now on Anjunabeats.
