The Bay Area’s rising R&B talent Karri unveils his latest EP, SLIDER II, via PFL (Playing For Legacy), marking a bold evolution from last year’s debut, Late Nite Slider Music. The project deepens his contemporary R&B signature, blending soulful influences with the distinct musical heritage of the Bay Area.
SLIDER II features previously released singles “strip” and “go” featuring Kehlani, alongside collaborations with Leon Bridges, Hunxho, Pimmie, and GRAMMY®-winning producer Dre Moon (Beyoncé, The Weeknd, Future). Pitchfork lauded the EP, noting that Karri “sharpened his approach by pairing those vocals with brighter production that gives room for more emotion and color.”
Earlier this week, Karri dropped the cinematic video for “Risky”, directed by Emmy®-nominated filmmaker Dave Laven (A$AP Rocky, Sam Austins, Kilo Kish), capturing a late-night excursion through San Francisco. This release is the first of several visual pieces tied to SLIDER II, each showcasing the EP’s atmospheric and narrative depth.
SLIDER II positions Karri as one of R&B’s most innovative emerging voices. The project spans sultry late-night croons, like those on his debut, to Bay Area hip-hop-infused tracks designed for the car or club. 2025 has been a breakthrough year for the 22-year-old, earning Billboard’s R&B Rookie of the Month title, touring with Isaiah Fai, performing at Wireless Festival in London, and collaborating with artists including Joe Kay (Soulection), Goapele, and Jack Dine.
With SLIDER II, Karri continues to expand his sonic palette, combining introspective storytelling, innovative production, and star-powered collaborations, setting the stage for an even bigger 2026.
