Out now, this latest collaboration marks the third single on Kaleena Zanders’ upcoming ‘GLORIFIED’ EP, due on October 18.
Riding a wave of international acclaim following the worldwide release of her two summer hit singles ‘LOOKING FOR JOY’ and ‘BURN IT DOWN’ back in July and August respectively, LA-based artist, singer-songwriter, DJ and producer Kaleena Zanders unveils her third original release off her second EP released via Helix Records, ‘DADDY KEEPS CALLING’.
Out now, this latest cut sees Kaleena team up with renowned French producer, DJ and Confession label boss Tchami for their eagerly anticipated sophomore collaboration (following the release of ‘Giving Me Life’ earlier this year) as they deliver a unequivocally cool slice of soulful house music that represents some of their most bold and energetic work to date.
Intoxicatingly up-beat, the high-octane anthem is a masterclass in feel good piano house, as Kaleena and Tchami team up in perfect accord to unleash a heady display of rolling basslines, playful organ chords and infectious keyboard riffs, all brought together underneath Kaleena’s unmistakably soulful topline. It can now also be announced that ‘DADDY KEEPS CALLING’ is the third official single to be taken from Kaleena’s brand new four-track ‘GLORIFIED’ EP, which will be released on October 18, also via Helix.
Speaking about the new single, Kaleena Zanders commented:
“When I wrote the lyrics to Daddy Keeps Calling with prolific singer songwriter/producer/DJ Bright Lights, we knew it was a unique perspective on songs made for the dancefloor. In our heads we imagined the dance floor being the dominant force in our lives that drives us to create dance music and the force that so many people gather around. With that said, in this case playing off of sensual role play Daddy is the dancefloor and the nucleus that binds us all. Instrumentally, this song has had many different sonic palettes, initially developed for a couple of years with my great friend Prince Fox. Finally, we settled on this sort of gospel influenced, uplighting vibrant song that could bring home the idea that the dance floor is a place to rejoice for people of all walks of life. After settling upon this idea, I knew in my soul it was right to tap Tchami to bring forth his masterful and cathedral ideas to elevate the track resulting in a collaboration that feels nostalgic, moving and innovative”.
Kaleena Zanders’ revolutionary voice and magnetic presence in the dance community are undeniable. She is prolific vocalist, songwriter and DJ who captivates audiences with her remarkable stage presence, gospel influenced sound and powerhouse vocals, comparable to 90’s house artists like CeCe Peniston, Robin S, Crystal Waters and even Whitney Houston. Building on her early success as a standout vocalist for dance artists such as Chris Lake, AC Slater, Matroda, Loud Luxury, Breathe Carolina, Moon Boots, Morgan Page, SNBRN and more, Kaleena Zanders established herself as the go to house vocalist and has amassed over 500 million streams across the board and heavy radio support all over the world.
Kaleena’s hit single, ‘Carry Us’ with LP Giobbi was crowned one of Billboard’s 40 Best Dance Songs of 2021; one of Forbes’ top songs of 2021; and has enjoyed regular support from Danny Howard, Charlie Hedges and Arielle Free at BBC RADIO 1, and Diplo’s ‘Revolution’ on Sirius XM. Beyond this, Kaleena has also released transformative new tracks on some of the biggest labels in electronic music including, Spinnin’, Armada, Anjunabeats, Thrive, Insomniac Records and Dim Mak (to name a few), eventually signing a deal with Helix Records, releasing her #1 Billboard US Dance/Mixshow Airplay single ‘V I B R A T I O N’ with notable hitmaker Shift K3Y. Overall, Kaleena’s mission is to keep creating visibility for people like her – black, queer & a woman with a voice. With a lot of love & care, she hopes that her presence in dance music culture continually helps create a diverse and inclusive space for those whose voices have been suppressed.
