Over three decades, New York’s own Junior Vasquez has built a legacy as a legendary House music selector and a global dance music pioneer. He is credited for helping bring Chicago House and Detroit Techno to NY in the 1980s, co-founding the iconic Sound Factory and headlining local haunts such as Twilo, The Arena at Palladium, Earth at Exit, and Tunnel.
On September 2nd, Teksupport, Joseph Capriati, and Hex Hector will help celebrate Junior’s 70th Birthday for an unforgettable Labor Day affair of House and Techno. Teksupport will bring world-class production to raw Brooklyn venue 99 Scott with curatorial help from local phenom Hex Hector and Italian dance veteran Joseph Capriati. Capriati credits Vasquez as a major influence, adding to a fitting night for the birthday celebrator.
A crossover maestro, Junior Vasquez boasts discography in support of the music industry’s most iconic names in dance-pop. He’s helped produce for the likes of Janet Jackson, Prince, Cher, Cyndi Lauper, and even Madonna, who was famously sampled on his seminal club anthem, “If Madonna Calls“.
