Julien’s Auctions, the premier rock and roll memorabilia auction house, returns to Los Angeles for Ready, Steady, Bid, celebrating the legacy of Paul Oakenfold. Taking place on March 28 at 10 AM PST, both in person and live online at juliensauctions.com, this exclusive sale will feature over 150 iconic pieces from the pioneering DJ’s personal collection.
The auction will include a diverse selection of memorabilia, including awards, rare vintage posters, flyers, photographs, fine art, DJ equipment, and more. As the first DJ to perform at Glastonbury Festival to an audience of over 90,000, Oakenfold has achieved an unparalleled legacy. A three-time GRAMMY nominee, his career highlights include world tours with Madonna and U2, groundbreaking performances at Stonehenge, Mt. Everest Basecamp, the Great Wall of China, Area 51, and Burning Man, and his role in pioneering the Las Vegas DJ residency phenomenon. Repeatedly voted the world’s No. 1 DJ by DJ Magazine, his impact on electronic music is immeasurable.
Beyond the stage, Oakenfold has left his mark in Hollywood, producing soundtracks for films, commercials, and top-selling video games. His genre-defining remixes of artists like U2, Cher, Moby, Madonna, and Britney Spears have cemented his status as one of the most influential DJs in history.

Reflecting on his collection, Oakenfold shared, “Why do I want to just put this in a box when I can share it with people, put a smile on their face, and let them enjoy it?” Giles Moon, dance music expert at Julien’s Auctions, added, “Paul has a remarkable collection of memorabilia not only celebrating his own stellar career but also documenting the evolution of dance music from the 1980s to the 2000s. His collection includes an incredible archive capturing the rise of Acid House, from Ibiza to London’s underground scene during the ‘Second Summer of Love.’”
Among the highlights of the auction are:
- Awards & Gold/Platinum Record Plaques from Salt-N-Pepa, Beastie Boys, Happy Mondays, and more
- Oakenfold’s Original DJ Equipment, including a custom three-turntable DJ booth used on tour with Moby in 2001 ($20,000-$40,000)
