Josh Butler makes a confident return to Factory 93 Records with his latest two-track release, Only Eight / Sweet Spot, landing on January 23. The EP marks his second appearance on the label following 2022’s Final Adjustments EP and signals a groove-forward start to 2026 from one of the UK’s most respected house music producers.

Long regarded as a cornerstone of modern house, Josh Butler has built an enduring reputation through releases on Solid Grooves, Hot Creations, Knee Deep In Sound, and his own imprint, ORIGINS RCRDS. With Only Eight / Sweet Spot, he leans into a deeper, more refined palette—balancing bounce, restraint, and hypnotic flow while staying true to the club-first ethos that has defined his sound.

Opening track “Only Eight” unfolds with understated confidence, built around warm, rolling chords and a contrasting bassline that gradually intensifies. Subtle at its core, the track slowly blooms with infectious energy, designed to lock dancers into a steady, immersive groove. On the flip, “Sweet Spot” shifts gears with driving rhythms and stripped-back textures. Hazy male vocals drift in and out of the mix, weaving playful character into the slinking bassline and giving the track its late-night allure.

Reflecting on the EP’s direction, Josh Butler explains, “This EP looks back while still pushing forward. ‘Sweet Spot’ channels the spirit of Jackal from my first Kaoz Theory EP, and ‘Only Eight’ blends influences from my earlier work—including my Carl Cox remix—with a modern deep house sound.”

Only Eight / Sweet Spot captures Josh Butler’s ability to honor his roots while evolving with intention, delivering club-ready tracks that feel both familiar and forward-facing. With Factory 93 Records providing the platform, the EP stands as a refined statement from a producer still shaping the pulse of contemporary house music.

Josh Butler’s Only Eight / Sweet Spot is available now on all platforms via Factory 93 Records.
