Dance music powerhouse John Summit kicks off his next chapter with the release of his electrifying new single “LIGHTS GO OUT,” a high-impact track that signals a bold evolution in his sound. After teasing the record in sets over the past month, the song’s pulsating, high-energy chorus has already triggered massive crowd reactions on dance floors around the world.

Opening with the instantly catchy refrain, “where do we go when the lights go out,” the track hooks listeners from the first second before plunging into fast-paced drum & bass rhythms and thunderous drops. The result is an adrenaline-fueled rush built for late-night warehouse moments, while still staying true to Summit’s signature festival-ready intensity. Fans have quickly embraced this new sonic direction, with teaser clips of unreleased music — including collaborations with Feid and Julia Wolf — going viral and building anticipation for his forthcoming album later this year.

Speaking about the release, John Summit shared, “For my first single of the year I knew I had to come out swinging with ‘LIGHTS GO OUT.’ Led by an anthemic vocal that hasn’t gotten out of my head since the first studio session, this one has been crushing my sets with its combo of house, trap & heavy synth elements.”

The single arrives amid a packed global schedule. Summit is set to make his Ibiza residency debut, headlining nine Mondays at [UNVRS], and will deliver his U.K. summer headline debut with Labyrinth Events at Tofte Manor. During Miami Music Week, he will close the Ultra Music Festival Mainstage before heading to back-to-back Experts Only ski weekenders in Vail and Whistler. His worldwide tour also includes stops at Ultra South Africa, EDC Mexico, and Tomorrowland, followed by a return to New York City for the highly anticipated comeback of the Experts Only Festival after its sold-out 2025 debut.

Over the past year, Summit has continued expanding his artistic range. Standout releases include “Crystallized” featuring Inéz, which premiered at Tomorrowland and revealed a more emotional side of his production, as well as his long-awaited remix of Britney Spears’ “I Wanna Go.” He also reworked “Silence” with Sarah McLachlan and Delerium, and dropped “Focus” featuring CLOVES, further proving his versatility beyond peak-time club tracks.

In addition to his studio output, Summit made waves on the live front. Last September, he hosted New York City’s largest dance music festival, Experts Only, drawing more than 50,000 fans and featuring artists such as Kaskade B2B Cassian, Green Velvet B2B Layton Giordani, LP Giobbi, and AYYBO. Internationally, he delivered explosive performances at Lollapalooza Paris, Lollapalooza Germany, Ultra Europe, and headlined two nights at Austin City Limits Festival. He also played his biggest U.K. show to date at London’s O2 Arena before closing out the year with a sold-out stadium performance at Folsom Field at the University of Colorado Boulder.

With LIGHTS GO OUT,” John Summit doesn’t just release a new single — he sets the tone for a high-voltage year ahead, pushing his sound forward while keeping dance floors firmly in his grip.
