After the success of his acclaimed December studio album Welcome To My World, Bristol dance music pioneer Jody Wisternoff is back with a fresh perspective—slowing things down and diving into his long-standing love for ambient and downtempo sounds.
On his latest project, Jody reinterprets select tracks from the original album into chilled versions that strip the songs down to their melodic and emotional cores. Layered with lush pads, broken beats, and atmospheric textures, the Chill Mixes offer a more introspective experience while still showcasing Jody’s unmistakable musicality.
“Welcome To My World is an open invitation to step into my musical universe, shaped over the 35 years I’ve spent in the game,” says Jody Wisternoff. “While I was writing it, I felt the melodic elements stood out on their own. When Anjuna announced the chill label subsidiary, the idea for this companion release was cemented in my mind. I selected eight tracks that I felt best lent themselves to this format and got to work.”
Originally released in December, Welcome To My World has already surpassed five million streams and earned widespread support from industry heavyweights like Gorgon City, Super Flu, Eelke Kleijn, Nick Warren, and Tim Green. The album gained global recognition on radio platforms such as SiriusXM Chill and landed in the top five across Beatport’s Dance, Breaks, Electronica, and Organic House charts.
Now, with the release of Welcome To My World (Chill Mixes) on August 28 via Anjunachill, Jody Wisternoff invites listeners to explore a softer, more reflective side of his artistry—reimagining the album’s melodies and textures through a tranquil, downtempo lens.
