In celebration of the Golden State Warriors’ upcoming 2024-2025 season, renowned Bay Area electronic producer Jauz and hip-hop artist P-Lo have teamed up to drop “Don’t Lose Your Head.” This high-energy track, crafted in partnership with Golden State Entertainment (GSE)—the Warriors’ music and entertainment division—is designed to electrify fans at Chase Center home games, serving as a third-quarter anthem to rally the crowd after halftime.
Set to release on October 25, “Don’t Lose Your Head” will resonate throughout the season and is co-released through Jauz’s label Bite This! in conjunction with ONErpm, a global distribution company. The track samples the legendary Bay Area hip-hop group Zion I, paying tribute to the rich musical culture of the region.
Accompanying the single is a visually stunning music video featuring Jauz and P-Lo cruising through the Bay Area in a classic Mustang. The video showcases iconic landmarks such as the Bay Bridge, John’s Grill, the Oakland mural of Zumbi from Zion I, and, of course, the Chase Center, further cementing the track’s connection to the Bay Area and the Warriors’ home court.
Jauz, born Sam Vogel, has been a pioneering force in the dance music scene since his 2014 debut. His breakout track, “Feel the Volume,” launched him into the global spotlight, earning accolades from industry giants like Zedd, Skrillex, and Diplo. His genre-blending debut album, The Wise & The Wicked, made history by dominating dance charts within just 90 minutes of its release. In 2023, he continued his ascent with two original albums, Rise of the Wise and Wrath of the Wicked, showcasing his versatility in progressive house, drum and bass, and dubstep.
Reflecting on the collaboration, Jauz remarked, “With ‘Don’t Lose Your Head,’ we wanted to honor Zion I’s iconic track while adding a fresh, high-energy twist to get fans hyped after halftime. We reimagined the sample with P-Lo, blending his unmistakable West Coast rap with my signature production style. It’s all about keeping Warriors fans on their feet, in the moment, and ready for the second half.” He added, “Being able to create a track for the Warriors—my favorite team growing up—feels surreal. Collaborating with P-Lo, a true Bay Area legend, makes this even more special. Together, we’ve captured something that reflects the energy and pride of the Bay Area. It’s a dream come true.”
P-Lo, a prominent voice in West Coast hip-hop and a Bay Area native, echoed Jauz’s sentiments, saying, “Working with Jauz on this track has been incredible. We wanted to create something that embodies the Warriors’ energy while paying homage to our home in the Bay. Golden State Entertainment and the Warriors are breaking new ground in blending music and sports, and I’m honored to be a part of it.”
With “Don’t Lose Your Head” set to energize fans throughout the season, this collaboration promises to be a highlight for Warriors supporters and music lovers alike.
